Mainport Innovation Fund II (MIF II) emerged in 2015 as a collaborative venture between key Dutch transportation and infrastructure entities including Schiphol Airport, KLM Airlines, Delft University of Technology, NS (Dutch Railways), and Port of Amsterdam, with fund management provided by NBI Investors. This strategic partnership represents a continuation of the successful Mainport Innovation Fund I initiative, which operated from 2009 to 2015 and completed ten strategic investments in the transportation and logistics sectors.
