NovaUCD

NovaUCD stands as a premier innovation and entrepreneurship center at University College Dublin, establishing itself among Europe's foremost startup ecosystems. Since its inception in 2003, this dynamic hub has provided crucial support to more than 550 ventures and early-stage companies, whose collective fundraising efforts have yielded an impressive €1.3 billion in equity investment. The center's track record includes facilitating the creation of 70 UCD spin-out companies, processing 1,165 invention disclosures, filing 370 priority patent applications, and orchestrating 320 licensing agreements with both domestic and international commercial entities. NovaUCD serves both university-generated research spinouts and external companies seeking collaborative opportunities with the academic institution.

At its core, NovaUCD houses the university's knowledge transfer division, which specializes in commercializing intellectual property derived from UCD's extensive research activities. The center also operates ConsultUCD, a managed consultancy service designed to facilitate productive engagement between industry partners and university expertise. NovaUCD's operational scope extends beyond its main campus location to include management of NexusUCD, the university's dedicated industry partnership center, as well as the specialized AgTechUCD Innovation Centre situated at UCD Lyons Farm in County Kildare. Since 2017, the center has successfully completed 220 consultancy projects, demonstrating its commitment to practical industry collaboration.
