Incubateur Impulse

Created in June 2000 at the initiative of the Universities of Aix-Marseille and Avignon, joined by the CEA, CNRS, IRD, INSERM, INRAE, AP-HM, the Ecole Centrale Marseille, the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne and the Ecole Arts et Métiers d'Aix-en-Provence, the Inter-university Incubator IMPULSE has been supporting and financing innovative business creation projects valorizing public research work for more than 23 years. As a functional component of P.U.I Provence and also of the "MIB" Biocluster, integrated into CISAM and at the center of a tight network between research laboratories, Carnot institutes, SATT, competitiveness clusters, incubators, PEPITE Provence center, PACA INNOVATION network and "seed" capital, IMPULSE is a true support and pre-seed tool, converting more than 85% of projects into companies. By the end of 2023, out of 237 "incubated" projects, Impulse has supported the creation of 204 companies generating approximately 2,000 direct jobs (with more than 1,500 still preserved today) and more than 4,000 indirect jobs on site. One out of two projects from the Impulse incubator is a winner of the i-Lab competition (formerly known as CNACETI) or a winner in the "Emergence" category of the CNACETI competition and/or holder of a FrenchTech "Emergence" DeepTech Grant. With more than 483 million euros in cumulative private funds (excluding buyouts) for the supported companies, it demonstrates the attractiveness of these innovative startups in its territory. Supported by the State through the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the European Union and local authorities, particularly the South Region, the Aix-Marseille Provence Metropolis and the City of Marseille, Impulse is a recognized general incubator that contributes to creating value in Provence.
