This innovative venture will convert renewable electricity from a newly constructed wind farm into hydrogen through a large-scale 30-megawatt electrolysis plant. The project's comprehensive approach includes delivering the produced hydrogen to chemical industry customers via a dedicated 20-kilometer pipeline, showcasing VNG's ability to develop end-to-end clean energy solutions.

Further demonstrating its technological leadership, VNG is pioneering advanced hydrogen storage solutions as part of the Bad Lauchstädt project. The company plans to repurpose an existing natural gas storage facility, utilizing a nearly 180-meter-high salt cavern specifically adapted for hydrogen storage capabilities. This innovative approach to energy storage addresses one of the critical challenges in renewable energy systems—intermittency—by enabling the temporary storage of excess green hydrogen production.
